FREEDIVER is a floating, deep diving crankbait with some unique qualities. This is a modern lure designed for extreme trolling that can reach depths that are unattainable for other crankbaits. FREEDIVER also has a built in rattle with two noise chambers which generate different frequencies for increased attraction.
The main purpose for this lure was to catch zander from deep waters, but FREEDIVER also appeals to many other predators that feed in the depths.

The suspending Rattlin Sting features an integrated long cast system, so even with its 11 g weight, lengthy casts are no problem. And once retrieved, the internal rattle chamber calls the predators in with exceptional efficiency. Twitch it lightly for subtle direction changes. Twitch more aggressively and the wounded action is irresistible to feeding bass. And when left to sit, the suspending Rattlin' Sting will sit tantalizingly still. How to fish it?
When casting in rivers and streams we cast across the current and retrieve slowly. The Sting will hold it's depth when the retrieve is stopped without sinking, that suspending moment can provoke the most sluggish of predators; once you have the lure at the desired depth you should retrieve it with a series of soft pulls (0.5 to1 m) and pauses, during the pauses watch the line carefully and prevent it from falling slack so you can see gentle takes and set the hooks effectively. For trolling the Sting works equally well with or without additional weights, to attain greater depth a weight should be fixed 1m in front of the lure.

This is a floating/diving lure with unique, elongate shape and large size lip like no other on the market. The internal workings of the Freediver also sets it apart from all others. Two rattle chambers for a low and high pitch sound and Long Cast (LC) weight transfer system enables longer casts with fewer tangles. The all new Salmo Freediver writes the final chapter and sets new standards in how anglers will be fishing with a true mega deep diving lure. The use of the best quality components like excellent Mustad KVD Triple Grip and newest techniques to produce and finish the lures allows achievement of features unavailable in the other similar competitor baits. Lil’ Bug is a surface wobbler - so called „tracer”. As you can derive from the name, it tempts the fish by disturbing the water surface and creating a „trace” or wave. This lets the predator to register the lure even when the water is a less than clear. Inside the body of the lure (the 3cm version) we installed a special casting system called the Salmo Infinity Cast System (SICS). This special construction lets you cast on incredible distances and therefore reach the furthest reaches of the lake. Lil’ Bug was also fitted with incredibly sharp and strong treble hooks designed in Japan.
Lil’ Bug is especially recommended for catching chub, ide and asp, but it can also be effective on other species that feed close to the water surface (perch, trout).
